In June, I will be speaking at the NCTE-NCTM Collaborative Conference in New Orleans. I will be facilitating conversations about "The Power of Positive Relationships in the Classroom: Understanding Trauma & How it Manifests in Schools."
Kids can't be left out of community conversations. When it comes to creating change for their good, they should have a prominent voice in the discussion. Trauma awareness, regulation strategies, and relationship-building skills empower kids to lead the change in their communities. As an educator and coach, I can help jumpstart that process with the young people in your school or organization.
Through dedicated time spent in your school or organization, I will create a plan to help usher in gentle shifts in the climate and culture that will help build a more inclusive, restorative, and trauma-informed community. Coaching staff through challenging situations and difficult relationships, I will help you build a stronger, more resilient team.
Whether leading professional development training, facilitating a meeting, leading small department-level conversations, or bringing together members of your community, I will help you tackle concerns, roadblocks, or develope new policies and procedures with and for your stakeholders.
Michele has collaborated with schools & organizations across Missouri to bring trauma-informed education to many communities. She leans on her own experience to create engaging, relatable content. Her dynamic personality fosters a welcoming space where people can learn, discover common ground, and laugh a little.
Michele offers a simple definition for being trauma informed. It's just offering humanity to one another.
Everybody is dealing with something. Why not make it easier to be successful and get through your stuff?
Often, we don't identify our experiences as trauma. It's just life. But that doesn't mean it's not trauma or it's not traumatic to others.
